Biomet M2a-Magnum Hip Implant Recall
Our hip recall lawyers in NJ are currently investigating adverse side effects that are related to the Biomet M2a-Magnum Metal-on-Metal Hip Implant.
This product utilizes a metal ball that sits inside a metal cup. During normal movement, the metal ball rotates within the metal cup. However, friction during movement causes the metal to wear, resulting in premature damage to the artificial joint, along with the release of dangerous metal ions into the body.
The Biomet M2a-Magnum implant has not been recalled. However, medical literature and increased scrutiny surrounding metal-on-metal hip implants suggest that the M2a-Magnum may be the subject of future FDA action and that is where our hop recall lawyers in NJ. There have been complaints already made to the FDA by patients suffering with adverse effects, which include increased metal ion levels in their blood stream, pain and inflammation.
