Biographical Information:
Morris Brown, a shareholder with Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer
P.A., is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction awarded
by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Board of Trial Attorney
Certification. He has held several honorary positions in the
legal community, including vice-chair, New Jersey State Rules
of Court Commission (appointment by the New Jersey Senate, 1967-1970);
member, Rules of Evidence Committee (appointment by the New
Jersey Supreme Court, 1972); member, Character Committee (appointment
by New Jersey Supreme Court, 1973-1984). In 1984, Mr. Brown
was recognized by his colleagues with the Trial Bar Award, presented
by the Attorneys of New Jersey. Between 1981 and 1993, he was
a member of the Superior Court Advisory Committee on Professional
Ethics. Mr. Brown is also active in the Middlesex County, New
Jersey State and American Bar Associations, as well as the Middlesex
County Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial
Lawyers of America (ATLA). He was president of the Middlesex
County Trial Lawyers and president of ATLA between 1976 and
1977.
He has received a number of awards by members of his profession.
Among these are: For Outstanding Contributions to the Middlesex
County Trial Bar (1985); Middlesex County Bar Lawyer Achievement
Award (1987); Hon. Joseph Halpern Award for demonstrating the
criteria of integrity, motivation, scholarship, compassion and
advocacy (1995).
In addition to his legal activities, Mr. Brown has served as
a trustee of the J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison, NJ since 1975.
He was involved in the governance of the firm as a member of
the Long Range Planning Committee and as chair of the Client
Services Committee. He has also served on the Board of Directors
and as vice president of Temple Neve Shalom in Edison.
