Biographical Information:
Mr. Anthony, a shareholder with Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P.A., has been working with the Toxic Torts Team since 1993. He has concentrated his practice in the area of groundwater and soil contamination, chemical exposure, asbestos exposure and products liability litigation. These types of cases typically involve claims for personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, medical monitoring and loss of quality of life. His cases involve exposure to all types of chemicals including volatile organic compounds, heavy metals and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Mr. Anthony set legal precedent in New Jersey by certifying the first toxic exposure personal injury and medical monitoring class action in 1994. The settlement of this action resulted in a 30-year medical monitoring program for people who played on a chromium contaminated ball field in Jersey City. He also received the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Outstanding Achievement Award for his work on behalf of 427 Pompton Lakes residents in a groundwater and soil contamination suit against DuPont, which resulted in a $38.5 million settlement in 1997. Mr. Anthony has also worked on several other environmental contamination suits as well as individual chemical exposure cases. Mr. Anthony was also nominated for the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year in 1996 and 1997, and has successfully participated in several National Institute of Trial Academy mock trials and deposition seminars. In 2006, he was also selected by NJBIZ as a Forty Under Forty award recipient. He has also appeared on numerous television and radio programs discussing pollution and chemical exposure cases.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Anthony completed a J.D./M.P.A. dual-degree, magna cum laude, and an International Legal Studies Program. Additionally, he was a member of the Justinian Honorary Society and earned an award in Land Use Control.
