Woodbridge Law Firm Gives Back to Local Charity

Woodbridge, NJ –Keeping in the spirit of the season, employees of Woodbridge-based Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer were happy to rally together for a good cause. Employees banded together to fill more than 10 large boxes overflowing with over 375 pounds of food to donate to Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen, located in New Brunswick.

Elijah's Promise is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving prepared, nutritious meals to low-income and homeless individuals and families in the greater New Brunswick area since 1989. It is through the generous support of businesses, congregations, foundations and individuals that they are able to feed and assist people with services that move them from hunger to wholeness. Meals are served in the soup kitchen Monday through Friday, including lunch and dinner, and one meal each on Saturdays and Sundays. Meals are served to anyone who enter their doors.

In addition to healthy nutritious meals served in the soup kitchen, they offer a “meals to go” program for the working poor who can’t get to the facility at meal times and a “Fresh is Best” feeding program for people living with HIV/AIDS, and House of Manna serves dinner two nights each week to families with children. Elijah’s Promise served just over 102,000 meals in the soup kitchen in 2007 and they expect to break the 112,000 mark as their average level of service is up 15% in 2008.
