DRUG LIABILITY

Accutane

Accutane is one of the top three drugs for the most reported adverse side effects on the FDA’s database. The FDA estimates that only one in one hundred side effects ever get reported to the FDA. The injuries we are currently investigating are suicidal depression, colon injury, and liver and kidney damage.

ACTOS

Actos (Pioglitazone) is a drug prescribed to those individuals suffering from Type 2 Diabetes, which is a condition which develops when the body does not produce enough insulin or doesn't efficiently use the insulin that it does produce.

FDA issued a safety announcement stating that the use of Actos® for over a year may be associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer.

AVANDIA

Many Americans are affected by Type 2 diabetes and must take prescription medication to help control their glucose (blood sugar) levels. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on September 23, 2010 that it will significantly restrict the use of the diabetes drug Avandia (rosiglitazone) to patients with Type 2 diabetes who cannot control their diabetes on other medications.

GILENYA

Gilenya is an oral medication for the treatment of patients with relapsing forms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The medication reduces the frequency of flare-ups and delays physical disability. One of the known side effects of Gilenya is a slow heart rate (bradycardia). This side effect may result in dizziness, fatigue and heart palpitations, and usually occurs within six hours of a patient taking the first dose of Gilenya. The heart rate will usually return to normal within a month of first taking Gilenya.

HEPARIN

Heparin is a blood thinner prescribed to treat or prevent clotting complications and is most often given to dialysis patients and patients undergoing various forms of surgery. Heparin is also used to treat pulmonary and arterial embolism (obstruction of pulmonary artery and other arteries from blood clots), blood vessel and lung conditions, and to prevent other types of thrombosis (clotting of blood within the vascular system).

LEVAQUIN

Levaquin and its generic version, Levofloxacin, is an antibiotic often used to treat bacterial infections associated with pneumonia, kidney infection, chronic bronchitis, urinary tract infection, respiratory track, skin infection and sinuses. It has been reported, however, that adverse side effects caused by Levaquin may include: tendonitis and rupture of the Achilles tendon, rotator cuff, and other tendons. These injuries may be noted by swelling, bruising and pain at the site.

STEVENS-JOHNSON SYNDROME

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis are related skin disorders, which may be fatal or cause serious injuries, such as, scarring, photophobia, organ damage, disfigurement and blindness. Most patients with these disorders develop widely distributed blisters on the trunk and face that spread to other parts of the body.

Your Legal Rights

If you or someone you know has suffered serious side effects, or a fatal injury that you believe may be related to your usage of prescription drugs (recalled drugs), you may be eligible to file a claim.
