1. Armona vs Dupont
This was the largest settlement to date in New Jersey for a
groundwater and surface soil contamination matter. We represented
approximately 400 individuals from the Borough of Pompton Lakes
whose property was contaminated by DuPont. The matter settled
for a total sum of 38.5 million dollars.
2. Zuckerbroad vs The Town of Westfield
This was a matter in which we recovered money for a young boy
who was infected with a fungus called aspergillus fumigatus.
The fungus that had grown in a compost pile operated by the
Town near the boy's home. It created a permanent condition called
Aspergillosis which involves a growth of the fungus in an individual's
lung.
3. Ameye vs Hoffer Machine & Tool
In this matter, we recovered for a group of approximately 50
individuals whose wells were contaminated by a machine shop
in a North Jersey Community. This was one of the first claims
in New Jersey after Ayers v. Jackson Township to recognize recovery
for medical monitoring, fear of cancer, emotional distress and
property damage.
4. Russo vs Allied Signal
We certified the first toxic exposure class action in New Jersey
history in this case involving hundreds of individuals who played
on a chromium waste contaminated ball field in Jersey City.
As a result of our efforts, all class members have the opportunity
to monitor their health free of charge at a Jersey City hospital
for thirty (30) years.
